*I Thought My Body Was Betraying Me*
For the longest time, I didn’t understand my body.
Some months, my period came on time. Other months, I could wait six, seven, even eight weeks before it showed up.
Then came the acne. The unexpected weight changes. The hair that seemed to grow in places I didn’t want it to.
I tried everything I could think of.
I changed my diet. I bought different skincare products. I exercised more. And every time my period was late, a tiny part of me wondered, *“Could this finally be pregnancy?”*
But the pregnancy tests kept coming back negative.
I started feeling like my body was working against me.
One day, after another missed period, I finally decided to see a doctor. After some tests and conversations about my symptoms, I was told I had PMOS.
I remember sitting quietly, trying to process everything.
Part of me was scared.
Another part of me was relieved.
At least now, I had an explanation.
I began learning about PMOS and understanding that the symptoms I had been experiencing weren’t random. More importantly, I learned that my diagnosis did not mean my story was over.
My body wasn’t betraying me.
It was asking me to pay attention.
So I stopped fighting my body and started learning how to care for it.
I’m still on my journey, but I no longer look at my body with anger.
I look at it with understanding.
Sometimes, the first step to healing is realizing that your body isn’t your enemy.
